Michael McKenna & Associates, LLC, works in various aspects of the fire service industry, from roles as a Subject-Matter Expert and Risk Assessment Specialist to SCBA Specialist.

Michael McKenna retired as a fire captain after almost 35 years of professional fire service experience, including over 19 years as a fire captain and seven years as a fire district safety officer. He has been instructing Fire Technology, specializing in fire behavior, at American River College since 2000. Michael has over 18 years of experience in fire service program management, problem-solving, and solution development. He has been involved with the NFPA fire service standards development since 1988 and sits as a member of various fire service organizations.

Michael McKenna retired as a fire captain after almost 32 years of professional fire service experience, including over 19 years as a fire captain and seven years as a fire district safety officer. He has been instructing Fire Technology, specializing in fire behavior, at American River College since 2000. Michael has over 18 years of experience in fire service program management, problem-solving, and solution development. He has been involved with the NFPA fire service standards development since 1988 and sits as a member of various fire service organizations, including:

  • NFPA 1970 Standard on Protective Ensembles for Structural and Proximity Firefighting, Work Apparel and Open-Circuit Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for Emergency Services, and Personal Alert Safety Systems (PASS) - Primary Member
